Travel Arrangements - By Air and Rail...

We do not include the cost of flights or other travel arrangements from your home to Austria or Hungary in our holiday price.  There is so much choice available nowadays from regional airports and low cost operators that we prefer to give you maximum flexibility of travel options at the most competitive prices.

Information on flights and rail travel given below is subject to change.  Flights nay not always be available at all times of year, especially from regional airports.

Guests travelling from other countries are advised to check flight availability locally.

European Rail Travel

If you prefer not to fly then why not consider travelling by rail?  European services are fast, clean and efficient - and usually reasonably priced.  Overnight sleeper services are available, or why not stop over (in Paris or Zurich, for example) to break the journey and extend your holiday?  The main options are as follows:

(1) Afternoon train on Eurostar to Paris, overnight sleeper to Munich and onward connection the next morning to Salzburg or Vienna.

(2) Lunchtime departure by Eurostar to Brussels, high-speed Thalys to Cologne, then an overnight train to Vienna, arriving in the morning.

(3) The scenic and more leisurely route on daytime high speed trains takes in the spectacular Alberg Pass:

Day One – Afternoon departure on Eurostar to Paris, Paris to Zurich. Overnight stay in Zurich. Day Two - Mid-morning train to Salzburg or Vienna.

For more details on these and other journeys please contact us.
